When I first heard the news about the Lakers hiring of Luke Walton, I was shocked. When I say shocked, I mean, within 24 hours of him being interviewed, he got the job. Luke to me is getting a lot more credit than he deserves. Most people are already calling him a great coach for what he did with the first 40 plus games with Golden State. The Warriors are an easy team to coach in my opinion, because they are already in sync and with experienced players. Having them winning the championship last season, they're whole team was back!
I'm not saying that Luke Walton won't be a good coach, I'm just saying he won't have a team like the Warriors who play defense, shoot 3's well, and have experience. The Lakers are a young team with lots of holes to feel. I felt the front office could have took they're time and interviewed a few more coaches. My first pick I believe the Lakers should have went after was Coach Calipari. He has the experience to deal with young guys while keeping them in line and players would love playing for him.
